About Knit Me Harder Co.

I'm Teresa. I'm 50, I'm neurodivergent, I'm in perimenopause, I'm coming off antidepressants I've been on since I was a teenager, and I've just started a yarn business.

Typical me.

I've never done things the expected way. School didn't work for me. Rules didn't work for me. The system definitely didn't work for me. I spent decades feeling too much, too loud  in a world that kept telling me to turn it down.

What did work? Making things with my hands.

I came to chunky yarn late, during one of the darkest periods of my life. In 2024, I lost my Dad. My beautiful, handsome Dad. My world completely fell apart. I ran the London Half Marathon for him; I trained, I grieved, and somewhere in the middle of all that noise, I picked up some chunky chenille yarn and just started making.

But then, I couldn't find enough of it. Same dye lot? Decent quality? Anywhere? Honestly, it was a joke.

So, I did what any sensible person would do. I imported my own and started a yarn business. My ADHD said go, so I went.

Knit Me Harder Co. exists because I needed it to exist. As a supplier, as a community, and as a reason to get up and create something when everything feels like a bit too much.

I know exactly what it's like when your brain won't stop. When the noise is too loud. When you're overwhelmed and nobody seems to know what to do with you. I've lived that. I'm still living it—just now with better tools, a fiancé who actually shows up, and a ridiculous amount of chunky chenille yarn.

Today, I stock a wide, ever-growing range of vibrant colours. I am also building out complete kits so you can get everything you need in one place, without the inflated boutique price tags.

But more than just selling yarn, I am bringing finger-knitting workshops to my community and beyond. Creating something with your own hands can genuinely stabilise your emotions, calm your nervous system, and give you back a piece of yourself. I've felt it work. Properly felt it.

I'm not a therapist. I'm not a guru. I'm just someone who found something that saved her, and wants to share it.

Every skein I sell, every workshop I run, and every person who sits down to make something for the very first time—that is the entire point of this business.

Welcome to Knit Me Harder Co. Come and make something with me.
